Just Biden Our Time

Sometimes it seems  that Joe Biden is too good to be true. We haven’t checked in on him lately, so let’s see what we can learn about his comings and goings. We know he was in Iraq on July 4 and that was acceptable, visiting the troops, boosting their morale, maybe. Just recently he was telling us that Israel had the right to defend themselves against Iran and its possible acquisition of nukes. Small problem, he contradicted the boss. Not a good move for Joey B.

Now we learn from the LA Times that a new term has been coined to help describe Biden’s schedule. It seems that he has many private meetings with unnamed sources on unnamed subjects and they are “closed press.” Guess that means no news folks allowed. For one thing, that is a good way to be certain that something he might say might come out wrong or perish the thought, be misinterpreted. It gets even better according to Andrew Malcolm. He was to show up for a meeting with HHS Secretary Sebelius at 11:00 am and after all was said and done should have been finished by say, 12:30. Hang out, Bidenspeak, schedule  style is coming  up.According to the White House  Biden will not spend the rest of his day in private meetings that are sans media. Now, the  following is a quote: ” The Vice President will spend the remainder of the day in meetings that are closed press.” Enormous difference, right? Hey, it is certainly cheaper than flying him to a  foreign country for some mindless meeting. He can stay home and have a mindless meeting.

But never fear. The globetrotting one will be off to the Ukraine and Georgia (not the state, hope he knows  that) to  offer some encouragement in their democratic reforms.

Gotta have a picture of Joe, just so you  don’t  forget. This was one of the best I saw.

  1. The only reason Obama picked Biden for his VP was that he wanted someone less smarter than himself and someone to be his slave! Biden fits all the above! Obama couldn’t pick anyone besides Biden because most were smarter than he himself. 🙂

  2. Kinda scary to realize all the power that the two of them have available to them. By next year, Biden’s son will probably be in the Senate, spending time with Al Franken.

  3. Yeah, you hit it on the head, GTP. Obama must have wanted “someone less smarter than himself”. And nice touch with the “slave” reference; gotta stoke that old racism furnace every now and then.

Why is it that you’re so scared of educated, intelligent people that you feel a need to drag them down to your level? Say what you want about Obama, but he’s not unintelligent. You don’t graduate from Columbia and Harvard Law (magna cum laude, Law Review editor) if you’re stupid.

And THT, I understand that the thought of Al Franken and Beau Biden being buddies in the Senate is disconcerrting to a conservative. It may not even cause a comfortable feeling with moderates or liberals, either. But the people of Minnesota elected Franken, and he’s their senator. If Delaware does likewise with Beau Biden, then c’est la vie. In a democratic republic, the people pick their representatives. It’s not up to us outsiders to pick their representatives for them. If it was, Strom Thurmond wouldn’t have served South Carolina for four decades in the Senate!

  4. larrys there are many people coming out of America schools that can not read and write, you as a teacher and a failed lawyer should know that! I see you’re running around the net defending Obama in his socialist policies, while many Americans are fed up with his Big spending of taxpayers money which is bankrupting this great country!

    • Are you nonsensical enough to assert that a man (oh, my goodness gracious, a BLACK man!) that graduated from Columbia University, graduated with high honors from Harvard Law, was elected U.S. Senator from Illinois and then eected President of the United States is, nonetheless, stupid?

Oh, wait, you didn’t say “stupid”, you used the unique term “less smarter”.

And your “proof” is that there are some who come out of “America schools” (not “American schools:, mind you) not being able to read or write? Does that comment apply to Obama, or to yourself?

      • By the way, THT, I apoogize for your rude guest. You see, GTP banned me from his own blog when he found that I wouldn’t accept his racist nonsense at face value, and he couldn’t find a way to effectively counter any argument I made against his wordview. But now, he follows me around on the Internet, trying to spar with me on other people’s blogs. Something akin to not soiling his own nest, I guess.

But I do apologize that he’s inadvertently dragging your otherwise pleasant little blog down into his swamp..

  5. Obama does not seem to be very smart to make such a statement knowing good and well that he was wrong or lying! Wonder which?

[ Chicago schools report contradicts Obama and Duncan
Obama said that during a seven-year tenure, Duncan had boosted elementary school test scores “from 38% of students meeting the standards to 67%” a gain of 29 percentage points. But the new report found that, adjusting for changes in tests and procedures, students’ pass rates grew only about 8 percentage points.
Even among those who graduate, it says, skills are poor: An analysis of students entering the Chicago City Colleges in fall 2006 showed that 69% were not prepared for college-level reading, 79% were not prepared for writing, and 95% were not prepared for math. ]
