Obama’s First Interview

First impressions are quite important and quite revealing. So what should we make of President Obama’s choice of networks for his first tv interview. Was it CBS,NBC, CNN, Cartoon Network or perhaps something else entirely? Indeed, ladies and gentlemen and children of all ages it was Al Arabiya, a network based in Dubai( remember the ports fiasco) and partially owned by the Saudis.

You might say, good for him, alas not so unless you think his goals are represented by saying he speaks for the Muslim world  and he  aims to defend them from America’s negative perceptions. Sorry, that is not his role when his oath of office states that he is to  preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. It is his perfect right to change elements of our policy with which he disagrees but please Mr President, do not be an apologist. I understand you have lived in Muslim countries and have Muslim relatives but you are a citizen of the United States and whether I like it or not, you are also my president.

A columnist named Benjamin Shapiro postulates  that November 4, 2008 was the day that we lost the war on terror. We  should all fervently hope  that Mr Shapiro was mistaken.
