Who is she. other than the wife of Alan Greenspan? Well. she is currently the chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent for NBC News and the host of a program on MSNBC. Havings worked in network news for over 30 years, she would presumably know how to be objective, at least on the surface. But that doesn’t seem to be the case.
Just yesterday, on her show, “Andrea Mitchell Live,”‘ she made an emotional plea to Congressman Elijah Cummings, D, Md. “…what happens if you don’t get health care for this president, this is really all-or-nothing for the sense of his power, his legacy, he’s invested so much in this, in his first year. You’ve got to get this for him.” Rep Cummings agreed with her, “a million percent.”
Now, this exchange has really left me confused. She is a foreign affairs correspondent, after all and health care is not a foreign affair, is it? And, I thought that the health care reform was for those millions of unfortunate Americans who lack adequate coverage. And, now I am told that this is to cement the Obama legacy and something about his power. I didn’t really get that part. Last time I checked, the Administration was well along into year#2 and it seems much longer than that. So, if I have this right, the passage of Obamacare will establish the President’s legacy beyond a doubt. Guess, he can just cruise through the rest of his term and not have to do anything. Maybe that would be a good idea.
Thanks Andrea and also for confirming beyond a doubt where your political loyalties really lie.
