Smell Anything Fishy?
If you do, better let the White House know as soon as possible. As you may have heard the White House wants to counter false info that is being spread around that is critical of Obamacare. Send email addresses etc to the White House so that this info may be shown to be in error. I am all for countering error but am not sure that having an internet “snitch” patrol is the way to do it. Neither does Sen John Cornyn( R, TX) . He wrote the President regarding this and has not received a formal response. However in the Dallas Morning News Trail Blazers Blog comes this gem from Press Secretary Gibbs. Individuals who are reported would not have their names collected but their emails would be retained by the National Archives since they are correspondence with the President. Wonder if on a slow day at the oval, anyone might take a peek at some of this info? Nah, no need these folks are just a bunch of astro turf whack jobs. Or as Speaker Pelosi said, there are reports of swastikas at these town hall meetings and that is just wrong. Got to wonder where she got this knowledge and will she share?
An opinion or two, for whatever they are worth. I suppose that I have said negative things about the health care plan in this blog. I have friends and relatives who have sent me emails with similar information. Do we inform on each other ?Is there some type of protocol there? Just wondering. Should any President gather information in this way, it appears that the process itself that should be called fishy.
And secondly, as Majority Leader Harry Reid(D, NV) said , are the protests being led and/or organized by talk show hosts, internet rumor mongers and insurance rackets ? I would love to hear from someone who has participated in such an event. Finally, Senator Claire McCaskill (D, MO) , an early, early Obama supporter, has been quoted as saying positive things about these meetings. Ironically, this was after she was a no show at her own town hall meeting. Oh well.
One final thought. The President was at one time a community organizer. Should he not applaud communities that are organizing?

Well, as for the swastikas, there are some photos here, from sources listed. Holocaust survivors have given public criticism to these meetings, and also to your friend Mr. Limbaugh.
But regarding the collection of emails: the White House already had your email, and mine, if they wanted it, before Obama came along. We know the NSA can get email addresses, as well as email records, which are much worse than addresses. We know that the arguments used to justify torture were identical to the ones that the Gestapo used, and yet we think a public health care option is fascist?
Do you think the meetings are a valid form of expression for people who have genuine concerns about the health care issue?
“Meetings” are great. Meetings to discuss issues, ask questions, get answers are fine.
But this nonsense about the whole goal being to disrupt meetings, to avoid discussion, to shout down legislators who try to answer questions — that’s not productive for anybody. And that’s the written playbook with these astro-turf groups. And now it’s become a “let’s see if we can do something outrageous enough to get on Faux News or YouTube.” And it’s literally getting dangerous.
I bet larrys was not talking that way when his friends the “code pink liberal group” was protesting and disrupting discussions on the Iraq war and President Bush! Its ok for the liberals to do such thing but not for the conservatives to stand up for what they think is right huh larrys!
